ORMA BLEEKS

Orma Bleeks was employed in hospitals and in the community working with people with long term mental illness, substance abuse and acquired brain injury for 40 years in the GTA.  She came to Niagara one snowy April day in 2000 looking for a safe, sandy beach for her grandchildren and fell in love with Crystal Beach.  She moved to her cottage year round in 2007 and has enjoyed her retirement ever since, especially as a beach bum.

JANE SEABORNE-DAVIES

Jane Seaborne-Davies was born in England and emigrated to Canada in 1973.  She worked in the School Bus industry for 37 years and held the rank of Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces reserves. She retired and moved to Crystal Beach in 2016 and was recruited by Orma Bleeks for the position of ACB Secretary.

LOUISE PICKETT

Louise Pickett moved from Toronto to Crystal Beach in 2007 (“best move of my life!”).  She worked administratively in the Depts. of Music and Theatre at York University; studied acting at Equity Showcase and performed in fringe theatres in Toronto; managed her husband’s music career which involved booking tours in Canada, US and Europe; co-produced their Concert for Peace at their home right here in Crystal Beach over 12 years.  Whew!

HOPE ELLIOTT

Community Development

Hope Elliott has been employed in Social Services for 30 plus years.  Worked as a Counsellor/Job Developer for Employment Ontario, Crisis Intervention Counsellor, Peel Regional Police.  She came to Niagara in 2004 and while cycling throughout Niagara found Crystal Beach and purchased her cottage in 2005.  She is now recently retired and enjoying beach life.

KAREN DOBSON

Karen Dobson is a recent retiree to Crystal Beach and is happy to be in such a friendly, welcoming community.  Karen has many years of nursing experience in a variety of positions.  She was an active volunteer in schools and churches in Toronto and plans to keep busy in Crystal Beach!

SCOTT BOUMEESTER

Director

Scott Boumeester, a recent addition to the board of Advancing Crystal Beach (ACB), brings over 35 years of executive experience in the regional, national and international business landscape.  With 20+ years of active volunteerism and non-profit board experience, Scott is committed to community betterment.  He also possesses 25 years of coaching experience in soccer and football, including Special Olympics, Rep Football at all levels and, most recently, as the new Head Coach Junior Football at Greater Fort Erie Secondary School.  His diverse expertise and dedication make him a valuable asset to ACB
