Orma Bleeks was employed in hospitals and in the community working with people with long term mental illness, substance abuse and acquired brain injury for 40 years in the GTA. She came to Niagara one snowy April day in 2000 looking for a safe, sandy beach for her grandchildren and fell in love with Crystal Beach. She moved to her cottage year round in 2007 and has enjoyed her retirement ever since, especially as a beach bum.
Jane Seaborne-Davies was born in England and emigrated to Canada in 1973. She worked in the School Bus industry for 37 years and held the rank of Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces reserves. Louise Pickett moved from Toronto to Crystal Beach in 2007 (“best move of my life!”). She worked administratively in the Depts. of Music and Theatre at York Univeristy; studied acting at Equity Showcase and performed in fringe theatres in Toronto; managed her husband’s music career which involved booking tours in Canada, US and Europe; co-produced their Concert for Peace at their home right here in Crystal Beach over 12 years. Whew!
Karen Dobson is a recent retiree to Crystal Beach and is happy to be in such a friendly, welcoming community. Karen has many years of nursing experience in a variety of positions. She was an active volunteer in schools and churches in Toronto and plans to keep busy in Crystal Beach!
